Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to get my hands on a Patek Philippe Calatrava 5227R-001 for a while now. It’s a classy watch, you know? But the price tag… ouch! So, I decided to go the remake route. Yeah, you heard that right.
First, I searched everywhere online, and I mean everywhere. Finally, I found this one site that had the remake version. It said “original order,” which I guess means it’s pretty close to the real thing. I compared different deals, and this one seemed like the best bang for my buck. They were asking for a whole lot less than the real one, which goes for over $44,000! Crazy, right?
After a lot of thinking, I decided to go for it and placed the order. The wait was killing me, but finally, it arrived! I ripped open the package like a kid on Christmas morning.
And there it was. This watch, man, it’s something else. It’s got that 18K rose gold look, 39mm just like the original that launched way back in 1932. And the ivory-colored dial, it’s like, vintage cool. Even the strap feels pretty good. It looks pretty much identical to the 2024 new edition.
I put it on, and it felt great. I mean, I know it’s not the real deal, but it sure looks like it. It was also marked as a “full set,” which I guess is good.

- Size: 39mm, not too big, not too small.
- Dial: That ivory color, gives it an old-school vibe.
So, yeah, I got myself a remake Patek Philippe Calatrava 5227R-001. I wear it all the time now, and honestly, I’m pretty happy with it. It’s a good-looking watch, and it didn’t break the bank. It’s not the same as owning the real thing, but hey, it’s close enough for me!
I showed it to a buddy of mine who knows a bit about watches, and he was pretty impressed too. He said the details are spot on. That made me feel even better about my purchase.

Overall, I’d say going the remake route was a good move. I saved a ton of money, and I still get to enjoy the look and feel of a classic watch. It was a good experience. It’s a great feeling. Maybe one day I’ll get the real thing, but for now, this will do just fine. No regrets here!
