Alright, so, I’ve been messing around with this project, trying to remake that fancy bag, the Yves Saint Laurent YSL LE CARRé SATCHEL BAG. Sounds like a mouthful, right? I just call it the YSL bag for short. First off, I went down to the official store, just to take a look, you know? This thing is smooth, like really smooth. Feels like butter, almost.
I started by sketching it out, trying to get all the details down. It’s got this shiny YSL logo thing on the front. Must be important, I guess, ’cause it’s on all their stuff. Then I went hunting for materials. I found some leather that felt pretty close to the real deal. Not exactly the same, but close enough. It’s tough, but soft at the same time, gonna last a while I think.
- First, I cut the leather according to my sketches.
- Then, I started stitching it together. This took a while, had to make sure it was all lined up right.
- The hardest part was probably attaching that YSL logo thing. Had to be really careful not to scratch it.
I spent days on this, I tell ya. My fingers were sore, but finally, I got it done. And you know what? It turned out pretty good! It’s not perfect, mind you, but it looks a heck of a lot like the real YSL LE CARRé SATCHEL BAG. I even showed it to a friend who knows about these things, and she was impressed. Said it looked like an “original order” or something like that. She said it has a real “classic design” that would “remain stylish over time.”
I learned a lot making this bag. It is not easy to remake something like this, specially when it is “carefully made with attention to small details”. If you’re gonna try something like this, you gotta have patience. Lots of it. And you gotta be willing to make mistakes. I messed up a few times, had to redo some parts. But in the end, it was worth it. It felt good to make something with my own two hands, something that looks this good, you know? I mean, folks online are saying these bags “hold their value well,” so maybe I’m onto something here. Maybe I’ll make some more, who knows? It is a “good investment in luxury fashion” anyway.
If you ever thought about getting one of these YSL bags, but the price tag scares you off, maybe try making one yourself. It’s a challenge, but it’s a fun one. And you might just surprise yourself with what you can do.
What’s next?
Well, for now, I’m just gonna enjoy my remake YSL bag. Maybe I’ll take it out sometime, see if anyone notices. Or maybe I’ll just keep it as a reminder of what I can do when I put my mind to it.
