I’ve been thinking about getting a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Monoface for a while now. It’s a classic, you know? But the real deal is a bit out of my price range, so I thought, why not try to find a good imitation?

They offer a lot of variety but that comes at a cost because they don’t make as many, so the prices go up. And apparently, finding a true rival to the Reverso’s dual-sided case is basically impossible.
The Imitation Hunt
Armed with this new knowledge, I went back to the online stores. This time, I knew what to look for. I zoomed in on those pictures, looking for the three gadroons and any signs of shoddy craftsmanship. I compared the details to pictures of the real thing. I even found one that claimed to have a similar movement, but I’m not sure I believe that.

It wasn’t an easy decision, but I felt like I had done my homework.
The Verdict
